Born on: 1st June, 1929
Fatima Rashid aka Nargis was born on 1 st June, 1929 in Calcutta and her parents were Abdul Rashid and Jaddanbai. Her best works are Mother India (nominated for Academy Award), Raat Aur Din, Andaz, Barsat to name a few. She made her debut in silver screen with Talashe Haq in 1935 as child artist but her debut as lead was in Tamanna in 1942. She married Sunil Dutt and has two children. She died on 3 rd May, 1981. She won Padma Shri in 1958and Filmfare and National Awards for her works. To honour her the government published Rupee 1 stamp.

She is one of the most ambitious lots who has ever come across. Sometimes the act shady and are mysterious. Nargis would not let you know what she is up to until the project is completed.
